Punjab Government Approves Ramadan Nigehban Package 2026: Rs 10,000 Cash for 4.2 Million Families

The Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has officially approved the Ramadan Nigehban Package 2026, providing Rs 10,000 to each of the province’s 4.2 million deserving families. The announcement came during a high-level meeting in Lahore, chaired by the Chief Minister, focusing on Ramadan preparations and public relief measures.

Nigehban Card Distribution and Activation

To facilitate card activation, 136 activation centers will be established across Punjab. Cards can also be activated directly at Bank of Punjab ATMs.
Enhanced Financial Assistance for Ration Holders
This year, ration cardholders will receive Rs 10,000 instead of the previous Rs 3,000 per month. The government has set up a Ramadan Nigehban Dashboard to track distribution and conduct counter-checking via phone calls to cardholders.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has also directed steps to further reduce rates of essential commodities, including coordination with flour mills, chicken, grocery, and ghee associations.
Commitment to Public Welfare
The Chief Minister emphasized that no deserving family should feel neglected during Ramadan. She stated that serving the poor with dedication brings blessings and sustenance.
She further noted that responsibility for public service lies not only with her but also with every Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, and officer. Timely completion of canal cleaning and sanitation tasks in all districts was mandated, with special attention given to underperforming areas such as Sargodha.
